Happy New Year!!! Looking ahead

Its a great feeling that the new year is finally here and I bet most people will be writing down those "new year resolutions" and hopefully work on them during the first few weeks of the year...Well that's what I used to do until I quit the whole "new year resolution" thing.

I believe 2008 will be way better than 2007 in so many ways and I am very excited about the new things that I'll be doing in 2008. You should too because I know God has plans for everyone of us.

I came across these images from my "Thanksgiving" folder as I was looking through the images I took in 2007 and these 3 photos made me smile once again. I've tagged these images "Looking ahead". The kids are looking up into something but don't necessarily know what to expect but they look with so much optimism. That's pretty much what I think is necessary for getting into the new year. Look ahead and thank God for those amazing things that'll be happening to you starting in the next few hours. All you have to do is to look ahead and start giving thanks right now even before you step into 2008.

It's been a fun 2007. I've been really blessed. Without God there's definitely no "photosbysticks" because he's not only blessed me with a wonderful talent but what I call my little ministry. I know there'll be greater things in 2008 and I can't wait to flow with the wonderful move of God. I'm already loving it.

Thank you all for being a part of my life and I pray that God will show himself great in your lives this new year.

Stay blessed.

Blast from the past and present!

PAST:
I dug into a bunch of old photos and was excited to see this again. It's from my older brother's wedding day (March 07) where I did a little bit of 2nd shooting although I was packed with a lot of behind the scenes work. I was barely starting out in photography back then and who would've thought that 9 months after....So many things would have changed and I'll be loving my new found passion.

DISCLAIMER: This photo was taken by Steven Gould of aperture-photography. He did an awesome job with the photos.

PRESENT:
Here is my brother Akinniyi and his wife, Olayemi(she has my mum's name..How cute) on Christmas day.

More fun at the beach

Remember the post I made called "my twin is in love with food"? Well here's my twin again with his "friend"...LOL! We went to the beach to cool off and take a bunch of photos before heading back home to Norman next week. We could only spend a little while there due to a little "technical difficulty" the very last picture should tell you why but hey, we used up the little time we had. I couldn't do individual portraits of "James and Jum" like I call them but these worked quite as well.

Here are the photos from today:

Notice these words on her bracelet? "Olajumoke" & "Taiwo".

Self Portrait

I try to take at least one photo everyday to continue working on my photography skills. I did some self portraits of myself today . The first one is what drives me as a photographer! The second one focuses on my everyday lens - my second favorite. Just having some fun as always. Enjoy!

My twin is in love with food

You know they say twins tend to be alike but our (myself and my twin) case is very much the opposite. We love to do very different things.I love photography/Drums and he loves Food and other things as well. I know the Title of this post reads "My twin is in love with food" and I'm sure you are going like man...He must be real fat! Well sorry to burst your bubbles but this brother of mine is not only a big eater but a "HUGE" cooker as well. He makes all his food from scratch and I'm not joking. He goes to walmart with his girl-friend to get all his stuff and they cook it all up. I also do get a nice share since he's my twin anyways so I don't complain because I never starve...LOL!

Tonight we ate Rigata served with tilapia and shrimp alfredo.  Very Long and interesting name but the food only lasts for such a short time…LOL! Man it was really gooooooood. I must say that my twin knows how to get down in the kitchen so all the ladies should beware! Oh by the way he already has "SOMEONE" he's seeing so don't write him a note once you view this dish. LOL!

Anyways here are the photos of what we ate.....Don't go crazy now.

Things keeping me busy..

Backyard shots...Very Interesting I must say!

I got tired playing call of duty 4 (Awesome game!) on my XBOX 360 today and decided to go shoot outside my brother's house. The sun was setting slowly and it looked beautiful outside which made the light to be just right. I caught my clients(ducks by the way) having fun in the water and decided to hang with 'em for a couple of minutes.

Here are some of my faves: LOL!

Christmas break....In Florida

I got to Florida on Tuesday and I'm pretty excited about the lovely weather over here. It's nice and not too hot so I'm rolling in some old shorts I pulled out of my bag! I was at the beach on wednesday (Already!) and had a fun time snapping whatever came my way. I'll be here for another 2 weeks before heading back to Norman for a Birthday party coming up on the 5th of January.
I'm loving it already.

Walking down to the beach.....

Rolling big.....
